Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Shared Valley, Inc. ("Shared Valley", "we") collects on sharedvalley.com, including /play, what we do with it and the choices you have. We are the controller of that information. Questions or requests: contact@sharedvalley.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no cookies set by us.
- If you use the contact form, we get your name, email, role and message.
- If you share a recording or quote, it is public, and anyone with the link or the Browse list can see it.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
What we collect
Contact form
Your name, email address, the role you pick and your message. The form is delivered by FormSubmit, which emails it to us. We use it to reply and follow up on what you asked about.
Recordings and quotes you share
When you choose to share a recording or a quote, we store what you share: the gameplay, the name you give it, a preview image and details about the game it was made on. It is published for anyone to watch and play. Do not put personal information in a name. We do not attach your IP address or any identifier to an upload.
Technical data
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address, browser details and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Stored only on your device
/play keeps a few things in your browser's storage so they are there on your next visit: your volume setting, the last quote you loaded from a file, and a game file you load yourself. These never leave your device unless you share a recording or quote made with them. You can clear them in your browser's settings for this site.
Cookies and tracking
We set no cookies and use no analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking. Because we don't track you across sites, we treat "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals the same as everyone else: nothing is tracked. If we ever add analytics, we will update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site for us, and only for that purpose:
| Provider | What for | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, storage of uploads, security | Technical data, uploads |
| Amazon Web Services | Daily backups of uploads (United States) | Uploads |
| FormSubmit | Delivering the contact form | Contact form contents |
The share buttons (WhatsApp, Facebook, X and others) are plain links: nothing is sent to those services unless you click one. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to a copyright notice (see DMCA), or as part of a merger or sale of the company, under this same policy.
Why we use it (legal bases)
- Answering your message: our legitimate interest in responding, or steps you asked for before a contract.
- Publishing what you share: to provide the service you asked for.
- Technical data and backups: our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable site.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then deleted.
- Recordings and quotes: until you ask us to remove them, or we remove them. Removed uploads can remain in backups for a limited time before those are replaced.
- Technical data: as set by Cloudflare's own retention policy.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email contact@sharedvalley.com. To remove an upload, send its link; as uploads aren't tied to an account, we may ask you to show it is yours (for example, by sending the recording file). We will answer within one month (45 days for California requests), and we won't treat you differently for using these rights.
EU, EEA and UK: you also have the right to data portability, to restrict processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Our providers process data in the United States; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
California: we collect the categories described above (identifiers such as name, email and IP address; the content of your messages and uploads) for the purposes described above. We do not sell or share personal information, and do not use sensitive personal information. You can make requests yourself or through an authorized agent.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us some, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and access to stored data and backups is limited to the people who run the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes
We will post any change here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will say so on this page before it applies.
